RAM, one of the most popular automotive brands in the United States, is set to take the world by storm with the release of the RAM 1500 REV for the 2025 model year. Unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, the RAM 1500 REV is RAM Truck's first battery-electric light pickup truck, offering customers electrified solutions with advanced technologies that will continue to redefine the pickup segment.
The all-electric RAM 1500 REV is a milestone in RAM's journey to provide the best-electrified solutions in the industry, according to Mike Koval Jr., CEO of the RAM brand at Stellantis. The new truck outperforms the competition in areas that matter most to customers, such as range, towing capacity, payload, and load time. The RAM 1500 REV is available in five trim levels, including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and brand-new Tungsten.
The RAM 1500 REV offers customers a whole new level of performance with two 250-kilowatt Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) combining motor, transmission, and inverter with four-wheel drive. The standard 168-kilowatt-hour battery pack has a target range of up to 560 kilometers, while the optional 229-kilowatt-hour large battery pack offers a target range of up to an unsurpassed 800 kilometers. Both options can add a range of up to 177 kilometers in about 10 minutes of charging time, with the 800-volt direct current fast charging offering fast and convenient charging solutions.
The RAM 1500 REV XR, with its class-leading range, follows the introduction of the all-electric RAM 1500 REV. The truck offers customers bi-directional vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid charging options, giving the RAM 1500 REV the flexibility to charge another Stellantis battery electric vehicle or provide power back to the grid. RAM's mission is to make life easier. For example, the truck can power a house during a power outage, be the center of a tailgate party, or supply electricity at the campsite or construction site. The onboard power supply in the loading area can deliver up to 7.2 kilowatts and up to 3.6 kilowatts in the front luggage compartment.
The RAM 1500 REV offers impressive performance data, including acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.4 seconds, 481 kilowatts (654 hp) of power, and 840 Newton meters of torque. The truck also offers a wading depth of up to 60 centimeters, a trailer load of up to 6,350 kilograms, and a maximum payload of up to 1,225 kilograms.
The RAM 1500 REV model year 2025 is based on the new STLA frame architecture for large electric vehicles, in which the body is placed on a frame. The innovative high-strength steel frame, made from lightweight yet strong and durable materials, is wider in the middle to efficiently house the battery pack while being protected from the surrounding frame structure. A full-length underbody air duct panel gives the segment's most streamlined truck an estimated drag coefficient of 0.34.
