Fiat, a brand with a 124-year legacy, has launched its first nationwide battery electric vehicle (BEV) in North America, the 2024 Fiat 500e. This new model marks a significant shift toward sustainable mobility for the Italian automaker and a tribute to its iconic and storied 500 model. The Fiat 500e is expected to arrive in the U.S. market in early 2024 after being revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
What is the Fiat 500e?
The Fiat 500e is an all-new, all-electric take on the Fiat brand’s most popular and recognizable model, the two-door fully electric 500. It combines the love of an iconic brand with a sustainable mission, offering a fun and intuitive driving experience with no need for instructions. The Fiat 500e delivers purity in motion with 162 lb.-ft. of torque and an estimated 149 miles (240 kilometers) of range. It also features 85 kW of fast-charge capability with 31 miles (50 kilometers) of range after only five minutes of charging and 80% battery capacity in just 35 minutes.
The Fiat 500e is not only a car but also a social project to feed America’s appetite for change toward sustainable mobility. It is part of FIAT’s Dare Forward 2030 plan to be 50% EV sales in North America and 100% EV sales in Europe by 2030. The new model also reflects FIAT’s vision of sustainability, as it embodies three soul: sustainable design, sustainable fashion, and sustainable luxury.
